Kuhli Loach

PostAuthor: smith » Mon Jan 30, 2012 09:25

Debated adding 6-8 Kuhli Loach to my Tiger Barb tank, however, I want to know if I will ever see them? I also have a handful of Stag horn Nerites and I don't want them eaten, I know some Loaches are voracious snail eaters but I have read conflicting reports on the Kuhli. Does any one on here keep them and if so do you ever see them out in daylight hours?

If kept in a big group you will see them often best kept with a soft sand bottom.
They love tubxfix and bloodworm. They will breed aswell.
They will eat small snails.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully 8 will be a big enough group for them to make a regular appearance. I once had a pair of clown plecs I put in a tank and never saw again until the day I took the tank apart to move house... I thought they had died.

With any luck the Nerites are large and pointy enough to be ignored and the MTS will get consumed.

I have 2 in my 30" tank and we see them quite often. Great to watch. :)
