Rescaped Tiger Barb Tank

PostAuthor: smith » Tue Nov 01, 2011 13:58

Did a bit of underwater gardening in my Tiger barb tank at the weekend and am very pleased with the results so thought I'd share.

Photography is not my strong point so you can't make out all the plants at the far end but trust me they look good ;)

I think its 2 different Anubias, one is definite the other not so sure but I have had it for years and have taken various cuttings and replanted. There are a couple of Crypts and one other not sure what but it has survived for a couple of years with my limited gardening skills.

I used to have a fermentation based CO2 system hooked up but for the last year it has just been a case of ferts added with a water change.

I had the tank as a bit of a community and have rehoused the others (Cherry Barbs, Black Widow Tetras and some Corydoras) and added some more Tiger Barbs. They behave more naturally in a larger shoal (20) and the tank looks better to boot. There is one loan Cherry barb who is so adept at avoiding my net looks like he is there to stay.

They shoal really nicely. Sometimes they form 2 shoals 1 at either end of the tank but predominantly they hang about together.

Feeding time looks like one of those cheesey Pirahna B movies!

I have always liked Tiger Barbs , the natural ones , not the dyed ones you see in some lfs.
Any chance of a video?
