Fin Rot

Fin Rot is a progressive disintegration of the fins that in severe cases, may progress to the body and lead to eventual death.

Signs

- Initial signs included red streaks in the fins and a lightening of the fin edge.

- This is followed by a fraying of the fins

- The infection may proceed to destroy the entire fin and into the body of the fish


Cause

Bacterial infection


Treatment

Salt bath or use of a fin-rot medication that can normally be purchased from you fish store.
